SUMMARY:Triduum of Penance & Prayer
DESCRIPTION:The Master of the Order has asked the Dominican family to undertake a triduum (three days) of penance\, beginning on Sunday 4 October and concluding on the 6 October. On the 7 October\, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary\, the Dominican family is called to pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary at 8pm in their local time\, and to livestream this if possible. \nWe offer to God these days of penance and prayer for these intentions: in suffrage for those who died during the pandemic; for the intentions of their bereaved families; for those who continue to suffer the effects of the pandemic and for those who work to alleviate their suffering. \nFr Gerard Timoner\, OP \nMaster of the Order of Preachers

SUMMARY:Church Open for Private Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Procedures to follow\nThere are a number of procedures which have to be followed in order to keep everyone safe. Obviously this will involve observing the protocols on proper social distance\, but will also involve some restrictions which are specific to the context of the church. Please note the following: \n\nUse the hand sanitiser provided as you enter and leave the church;\nFollow the one way system;\nPlease wear a face mask;\nDo not touch any statues or altars;\n\nWe are beginning to plan for the resumption of the public celebration of Holy Mass\, but there can be no communal or group prayers in the church at the moment. Please note that we cannot hear confessions. Confessions are being heard at the Oratory between 5 and 5.30pm Monday-Saturday. \nIf you are displaying any cold or flu symptoms\, please do not enter the church building. We would also advise those most vulnerable to refrain from visiting the church. \nThere are no toilet facilities available. \nSpiritual resources for visiting the Blessed SAcrament\nA range of resources are available online for visits to the Blessed Sacrament. The Catholic Truth Society have a number of books on sale that you might find useful\, including this companion to Eucharistic Adoration which contains prayers\, readings\, and devotional images.

SUMMARY:Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion
DESCRIPTION:‘…let us look more closely at that man crucified between earth and heaven. Let us contemplate him more intently\, and we will realize that the cross is not the banner of the victory of death\, sin and evil\, but rather the luminous sign of love\, of God’s immense love\, of something that we could never have asked\, imagined or expected: God bent down over us\, he lowered himself\, even to the darkest corner of our lives\, in order to stretch out his hand and draw us to himself\, to bring us all the way to himself.’ \nPope Benedict XVI\, Address after the Stations of the Cross at the Coliseum\, 2011. \n\nThis year\, Holy Week and Easter will be like none that any of us has ever celebrated\, and many will not be able to attend the Rites of Holy Week or the Sacred Paschal Triduum. The Archbishop of Birmingham has given permission for us to celebrate the Holy Week Rites despite our not being a parish\, and we are very grateful to him for this permission\, both for ourselves as a community\, and for the benefit of our congregation. As with the daily Mass over the last few weeks\, the liturgies will be live-streamed\, and you will be able to find them here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Godzdogz
